Saquon Barkley Injury Questions and Answers for Fantasy Football Owners

The news of Saquon Barkley’s injury is not the only bad news for the Giants and fantasy football owners. There are plenty of questions surrounding the running back’s mental health and future with the team. Here are some of the most common questions about the injury, as well as other questions surrounding Barkley’s health.

Barkley’s torn ACL

The Chicago Bears announced Sunday that running back Saquon Barkley has undergone surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee. In his first social media post since his injury, Barkley promised a strong comeback. He also echoed head coach Joe Judge’s postgame vote of confidence in him. Although the injury could have been a lot worse, Barkley has done everything in his power to get better.

Although the Giants have not set a specific timetable for Barkley’s recovery, they are confident that he will be ready for training camp in August 2020. If all goes well, Barkley could even play in the 2021 season. In fact, other running backs have returned from torn ACL injuries, including Adrian Peterson. He tore his ACL on Christmas Eve 2011, but returned for the following season. In fact, he went on to win NFL MVP honors.

His mental health

With his injury history, it is no surprise that Saquon Barkley’s mental health is on the wane. After turning his ankle in the Dallas Cowboys’ season opener, he admitted that he felt frustrated, angry, and exhausted. “My season was over,” he said, but he hasn’t let that stop him from working hard to get back.

Despite the setback, Barkley is preparing for another season with the Giants. He’s signed through 2022 and hopes to stay healthy and productive for the rest of his career. The Giants have invested in his long-term health and are hopeful that he’ll have a productive season.

His stock in fantasy football

If you’re a fantasy football owner, you’ve likely been wondering how Saquon Barkley’s injury affects his stock in your league. After all, he had a strong season before the injury and was considered the consensus top RB for 2019. But now, his availability is in doubt and his injury will most likely limit his fantasy production this season.

Barkley suffered a torn ACL and a meniscus in Week 2 last season. Since then, he’s been a slow return candidate. However, he’s still only 25 years old and is expected to pass a physical shortly. Once he passes his physical, he’ll be activated from the PUP list and begin practicing with the team.

His future with the Giants

It’s hard to predict what the future holds for Saquon Barkley, who was drafted second overall in 2018 and ran for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first season. He added 721 yards on 91 catches for four touchdowns, and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year. However, Barkley missed 13 games this year because of a high ankle sprain, and his future with the Giants is still up in the air. The Giants have bought Barkley some time to rehab and return to the field.

Some reports have indicated that the Giants are considering trading Barkley. However, Mara’s comments appear to contradict those reports. It is likely that a trade partner will take on a portion of Barkley’s salary, and the Giants will need to make sure they can get the best deal for Barkley.
